Medical Services
Two certified nurses supervise the clinic. Students who need medical attention must receive a pass from the teacher before reporting to the clinic. Students who are ill may not leave the building without permission from the nurse.
New students are screened for vision, hearing, height, weight, blood pressure, and scoliosis. Current students are screened periodically.
Physical Exams
New students are required to present a current physical exam form within 30 days of entry into the high school. Failure to comply will result in suspension. One physical exam is recommended for current students prior to their junior year.
Mobility Devices
The nurse must be notified in writing by a physician if a student requires the use of crutches or a wheelchair during school.
Athletics (see Athletic Forms page)
All students who wish to participate in athletics are required to have a physical. No athlete is permitted to start a season with a physical that will expire before the end of that season.
Psychological Services
Counseling is available to all students. Any personal, social, emotional, family and/or school problem that a student has may be brought for discussion as an individual, confidential interview. Appointments are usually made in advance. Self-referrals are welcome. For further information, consult your guidance counselor.
