On behalf of the PTA, we would like to welcome everyone back to school. PTA stands for Parent-Teacher Association, consisting of parents and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. We support school staff, help promote student self-esteem, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.
What is the PTA and who can be a Member?
The National PTA’s mission statement is …The overall purpose of the PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Our local chapter is made up of several officers: Jennifer Chevrier, President; Christine Knudsen, 1st VP, Christina Ingrati, Treasurer; Laurie Perl, VP Cultural Enrichment; Tine Pollard, VP Fundraising, Andrea Mosca, Corresponding Secretary and Dana Clark, Recording Secretary, not to mention our wonderful school staff and volunteers. So, who can be a member? If you’re a father, mother, protector, guardian, and/or a person who teaches or instructs at Radburn. If you answered YES, then we would like you to become a member.
PTA Programs & Fundraising
Our primary objective as a PTA is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and to benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we fundraise. Here are a few programs that we sponsor and/or support: TIC TOC, 5K and Fitness Fair, Photo Day, Lunch on District ½ Days, Family Fun Nights, Teacher Appreciation, Culture Day, Study Hall, and various fundraisers throughout the year, such as Yankee Candle, Square 1 Arts.
Become a Volunteer….Why YOU should get involved!
As you can see, we are a very busy group. This is where you can come in! We need your help, and so do(es) your child(ren). A special thanks to all of our volunteers from last year for all their hard work and dedication. Here at Radburn, we strive for excellence. There is no better way than to become involved. We are in need of growth and are seeking volunteers to continue re-establishing the organization. We have planned some exciting events this year and hope that more parents will join in our enthusiasm and contribute to our goal of enriching our children’s lives. The PTA is a team effort. We cannot succeed on our own.
Moving forward the PTA is going Green. In order to stay connected and know what's going on, please sign up to receive our email blasts. Go to http://radburn.fairlawnschools.org/pta/join_our_email_list_
